Cancer Support Programs

Camp Reach for the Stars

Camp Reach for the Stars is a weekend-long retreat provided at no cost for San Luis Obispo County children with cancer or who are in remission, to experience traditional summer camp with their families. Campers share common experiences that may seem foreign in other social contexts. Camp is held at Camp Yeager in Cambria every June.

ONS Holiday Party

Each year, the local chapter of Oncology Nursing Society, Central Shores, holds a Christmas Party for children battling cancer or in remission. These children are invited to an evening of arts and crafts, dinner and a visit from Santa. Jack’s Helping Hand is proud to support ONS in their mission of holiday cheer.

Cancer Mommies of the Central Coast

Established by a local cancer mom, this support group is for mothers of children with cancer. They have a private Facebook page and hold monthly meetings to encourage each other, share and connect with other mommies. Jack’s Helping Hand is honored to host and support their meetings.
