Jack’s Happenings – April 2024 E-newsletter

April Superstar — Gabriel!

Every month, we highlight a child so you can learn about the wonderful children we help in our community. This month, we would like you to meet Gabriel!

Gabriel, age 14, was diagnosed with Uveitis, a form of eye inflammation that must be treated to prevent permanent blindness when he was 5 years old.  Gabriel travels to Stanford quarterly for essential follow-up treatment and care.  Additionally, he receives injections, takes medication, and has lab appointments every two months.  There is currently no cure.  Gabriel’s mom and grandmother have been a part of the Santa Margarita Ranch family who helped get us connected with Gabriel.  Jack’s Helping Hand has been an invaluable support system for Gabriel since he was five years old. “I’m immensely grateful to have a supportive extended family,” shares Karlee. “When you’re a single parent, assistance with travel expenses makes a huge difference.”
